Yifan Chen (she/her)
My name is Yifan, and I am entering my second year working as a research technician for the Embody Lab. I am chiefly responsible for designing and programming tasks for various studies, which are expanding to involve EEG and physiology acquisitions. I also assist in data cleaning and analysis, as well as co-authoring abstracts and papers for submissions. I received a BScH degree in Psychology from Queen's in 2023. During my undergraduate years, I have completed two directed lab courses in the EMBody Lab, investigating, from a developmental neuroscience perspective, how individual differences in basic cognitive processing in preschool children may propagate the generational transmission of borderline personality disorder. This year, I am excited to contribute to research focusing on the upstream effect of physiological processing on higher-order cognitive-emotional functioning, and how they relate to various clinical phenotypes.
